| There is no image | Background of the Project: At the present time, the automobile industry is now developing toward the direction of lightening in the whole world and the weight-reducing of the automobile means the lightening of the components. During the recent ten years, the automobile casting components have been continuously replaced by the aluminum casting components which are lighter. The aluminum alloy has become the best replacement for the steel used for automobile because of its advantages as light in weight, high intensity, anticorrosion and excellent heat elimination. In the developed countries, 18% of the total aluminum consumption has been used in automobile industry, resulting in 140 kg of aluminum in each car in average. But this number has been increasing with an annual rate of 20 to 30% and the total volume of aluminum components used in automobile in US has been increased to 1.7 times in recent ten years. The rate of utilization of cylinder body and cylinder cap made of aluminum is 80% and 25% respectively at the present time. It will reach to 95 % and 60% respectively in 2007. As the Chinese automobile industry is close to that with the world, the total volume of aluminum alloy components will become greater and greater. There are now many types of automobiles in the country such as Santana, Audi, Red Flag using aluminum alloy components.
Estimated Investment: The total investment of this project is 31.25 million USD among which 23.44 million USD will be introduced from abroad.
